My Smart Boy

I'm pretty sure my child is a genius. Okay so I am sure every mom says that. This age is so amazing because their development just seems so rapid. Everyday Brady does something new that totally shocks me and makes me think "that seems really advanced." Of course what mom doesn't think their child is advanced...and I don't really have anything to measure his development against. Anyways, it is so fun to watch. I am so blessed that God has given me the ability to stay home with him so I can catch all the fun moments.

This week he has learned what ears and noses are. If you ask him where mommy's nose is, he will point to it and same with ears. Austin taught him this along with so many other things. Austin is an amazing teacher and father. He is so patient and will work with Brady forever until he understands something. He even taught him how to make the sound of a monkey. It is so cute. He also taught him how to say thank you. It sounds nothing like thank you but he says it everytime you give him something. My sweet boy with great manners. I'm pretty sure Austin was meant to be a teacher but financially that would not have worked for us. God really knows what He is doing!

A couple of days ago Brady learned how to stand up from sitting without pulling up on something. He has been walking for weeks now but he still had not figured out how to stand up on his own. I am so proud of him. He is so mobile now that I am exhausted by the end of the day. I am surprised he hasn't worn a path into the carpet because he just walks all over the living room and playroom all day long. I have finally removed all dangerous items and raised up all the blinds so that I don't have to follow so closely behind him. I am trying to give him more freedom which in turns means more freedom for mommy. He is getting so much more stable now that falls are happening less and less each day. He usually still goes to bed with a large red mark on his forehead every night but it is always gone by morning. He is just so fare skinned that you barely touch him and he turns red. That must be the German and Irish in him.

Brady is really into climbing right now. He loves to climb up my kitchen stool. He gets this cute smile on his face like he is doing something he is not supposed to. Little does he know that I am allowing it and fully monitoring it!! My little secret. He attempts to climb on everything. It is quite humurous the things he thinks he can climb up on when in reality there is no possible way. Adorable!
He has started immitating us alot. Scary thought! He will take his toy cell phone, our telephone, or even remote controls and hold it up to his ear and start babbling into it. It cracks me up. He got a toy cell phone in his stocking for Christmas, because he loves our cell phones, and Austin would hold it up to his ear and pretend to talk on it. After a few times of him doing that Brady would start bringing Austin the phone when it would ring so that Austin would talk on it. Now Brady holds it to his ear and talks into it. So funny. Just another funny thing...I never get to watch TV during the day because of chasing Brady around but at 4pm Brady drinks a bottle and I feed him a snack so I get to watch Gilmore Girls reruns for a few minutes around that time. Apparently Brady has gotten into it as well because the past few weeks when the theme song comes on in the beginning of the show he stops what he is doing and looks at the TV and gets the biggest smile on his face. Austin is really concerned about his love for Gilmore Girls!!!
More cute things to come I'm sure.
