My friend Jennifer recently blogged about her feelings on friendship and I loved reading what she wrote so much that I decided to do the same. Jennifer spoke about the friends you have at different stages in your life and how some stay with you and some don't. Someone said in a show I was watching once that "some people come into your lives and stay there forever while others are just passing through." I love that phrase because it is so true. I think God brings some people into your life just when you need them most and sometimes it's just for that time in your life.
When I sit down and think about all of my friends it is funny how they have all come into my life at different stages. I have a friend, Brooke, that I have been friends with since kindergarten. That is one of the most special friendships I have for that reason alone. She knows things about me that I might not even remember and there is something comforting in that fact. Even though she lives TOO far away right now I know we will be friends till we die. Then I have friends that I have been friends with since junior high and high school which I love to death. They are spread out all over but we still try to get together at least once a year. We love talking about old times and all the trouble we TRIED to get into. I laugh harder with those girls than anyone else. Then I have a friend, Carley, who I met when I was away at college a couple of years and whom I immediately bonded with. She took care of me and kept me grounded and safe during one of the scariest times of my life, being away from Mommy and all. I love her so much and miss her dearly because we have a hard time seeing each other regularly. That doesn't change the way I feel about her though and when we get together it's like no time has passed. There were other friends I made in those couple of years but none that stuck like Carley.
That brings me to an important story regarding friendship. In those college years I had a roommate that was basicly my best friend. We had met in College Station and decided to live together my second year of college. We were like sisters. We did everything together, we cried on each others shoulders, we dated, got engaged, and got married together. Soon after we were both married we had a falling out. I won't share any details mainly because they are really foggy to me now but words were said that could never be taken back. She hurt me more than anyone has in my entire life. So the friendship ended. Once this happened friendship took on a whole new meaning for me. I couldn't open up to anyone anymore because I was afraid of being hurt again.
About a year after this happened we joined a new Sunday School and praise God for it. We made a bunch of new couple friends and these girls have been amazing and such a blessing in my life. We have all been friends for about 5 or 6 years now and have babies all the same age. We have been through a lot together and even though it is still hard for me to be a great friend I try my hardest and I hope that it shows.
So to wrap up, I love all of my friends and what you mean to me. I know that I am not the greatest friend sometimes and I thank you for sticking by me through it all. You each mean the world to me and I would do anything for you!

What a sweet post Linds!! I love that after all these years we can all get together like old times and catch up!
I second what Cari said. Wish we could do it more often.
