Brady's 3rd Birthday

So I know it's been almost a month and a half since his birthday but that's okay. :) Hopefully I can remember how it went. It's hard to believe that my oldest baby is now 3. Time really does fly by when your having fun. Brady has grown up so much this past year. Since starting preschool he has really come out of his shell and he is showing so much personality. He is so funny, imaginative, sensitive, loving, cuddly and curious. Oh and very mischevious. He figures things out so quickly it drives me crazy. The newest thing he is doing is figuring out how to open doors. He can take off the child proof lock, unlock the dead bolt, and open any door. This makes mommy a nervous wreck. Anytime I take Brooklyn upstairs to put her to bed I always turn the alarm on, just in case he decides to walk out the door. He hasn't done it yet. :)

One of the biggest things Brady accomplished this year is potty training. He is totally potty trained during the day. He loves wearing his big boy underwear and has only had 1 accident since we switched over and that was about 4 months ago. We are so proud of him!

Another big thing we are so proud of is how well he has handled being a big brother. I was so worried while I was pregnant that his world would turn upside down when Brooklyn arrived and that he would be totally traumatized. Boy was I wrong. He handled it like a pro. There are times when he wants extra attention or wants me to put Brooklyn in her bouncy seat, but overall he does great and loves her to death. He is so sweet to her and gets so concerned when she cries. He is also such a big helper at times. I love how he can follow directions so well and boy does it help me out. I knew he would be a sweet brother but it has just melted my heart to see him be so loving.

We love you to the moon and back big boy!!!

So back to his actual birthday. His birthday was on a Saturday so he got to have his party on his actual birthday. Very fun! The day started out with birthday donuts of course!

The theme of his party this year was fire trucks. He loves emergency vehicles and thinks they are the coolest things ever.

We have a very good friend that is a fireman and the plan was for him to drive his truck to the house that day. Unfortunately, his truck got called to help out at another station. But leave it to Ben to not leave us high and dry. He called another station and they came to the house instead. The guys were so nice and so sweet with the kids. They let our kiddos climb all in the truck and showed them all the neat things about a fire truck. The kids had a blast. The coolest part about it was that Brady had no idea the truck was coming. We didn't want to tell him in case it didn't happen for some reason. He LOVED it!!

Brady has such a sweet bunch of friends.
Cake time!
Time to tear into some presents!
I LOVE his face here. This is the joy that cars bring to a boy's life. We have so many hot wheels it's not even funny.

Brady had so much fun at his 3rd birthday party. Now he just needs to stop growing up! And sorry there are no pictures of Brooklyn, she was sleeping the whole time. I promise Brooklyn pictures are coming. :)
